Where Familiarity Begins

Before your baby understands words, they know warmth, touch, your voice and the smell of the people who hold them.

In the early weeks, care happens through repetition. The same hands during a diaper change. The same warm water at bath time. The same slow touch as you dress them. Small things return often enough that they begin to feel known.

First Touch Ritual was created for that window.

There is very little in it on purpose. A konjac sponge softened in warm water for gentle cleansing. First Touch Butter for the skin afterward, with no added fragrance competing with the scent your baby is already learning as home.

You do not need a complicated newborn skincare routine. You need something simple enough to use again tomorrow, and the day after that.

The skin receives moisture and softness. At the same time, your baby receives something less visible: the same touch, in the same familiar rhythm, from the person they are learning to know.

That is where this ritual begins.

Inside the Ritual

First Touch Butter

FOR YOUR NEWBORN.

Care with no added fragrance for your baby’s body and diaper area, inspired by the protective richness of vernix. It keeps the sensory experience simple so your warmth, touch and natural scent can remain at the centre of your baby’s new world.

About this formula
Konjac Sponge

FOR SIMPLE BATHING

Konjac Sponge

One soft texture, used with warm water. During the newborn months, it keeps your baby’s bath uncomplicated, without adding another formula or scent to an already full evening.

About this formula

Learn Each Other Through Touch

In the first days, so much of your connection happens through skin. The way you hold your baby, the way your hands move over their body, the warmth of your chest, your scent, your voice.
First Touch gives that closeness a simple shape you can return to every day. The ritual stays intentionally quiet, with no added fragrance, so there is nothing competing with the sensory world your baby already knows best: you.

Step 1

Begin With Warmth

Soften the konjac sponge in warm water and let your baby feel the warmth before you begin washing.

Move slowly. Let the sponge pass over the skin with very little pressure, especially through the small folds and creases.

Your baby is still learning what the world feels like. Warmth and gentle touch give them something soft and familiar to meet. This season is more about sensory play than hygiene, enjoy it slowly.

Step 2

Let Your Hands Do the Talking

As you wash, let your hands stay in contact as much as possible.

Notice the shape of the shoulders, the tiny back, the folds at the thighs, the curve of the belly.

You are learning this little body through touch, and your baby is learning your hands at the same time.

Step 3

Keep the Ritual Quiet

There is no fragrance here on purpose.

Your baby already knows the smell of your skin, your milk, your body, your home. First Touch leaves room for those familiar scents to stay clear.

The ritual does not need much added to it. Your warmth, your voice, your hands are already doing a great deal. This is how pediatricians recomment to care for your baby in the first couple of months. Simplicity is all that is needed.

Step 4

Protect the Skin After the Bath

Pat the skin gently and apply First Touch Butter while a little warmth still remains.

Let the whipped butter melt on contact and move slowly over the areas that need extra protection. The texture softens as it spreads, leaving the skin smooth without covering the natural sensory experience of being close to you. Your touch feels like medicine to your baby right now. Skin to skin is bonding.

Step 5

Stay Close for a Little Longer

When you are finished, hold your baby against you for another moment. Feel the warmth of their skin against yours. Notice the weight of them, the way they settle, the little movements that are already becoming familiar.

These small repetitions become part of how you learn each other. The same hands. The same warmth. The same closeness.

Why the Body Remembers

A newborn arrives in a world full of sensation. Light is different. Air feels different. Clothing touches the skin. Water moves across the body. There are voices, hands, smells and temperatures that did not exist in the same way before.

In the middle of all that newness, some things are already becoming familiar.

Your voice. Your warmth. Your natural scent. The way your hands hold and touch them.

First Touch Ritual is designed not to compete with those cues. The butter has no added fragrance. The sponge adds only one soft texture. Warm water does the cleansing. The rest comes from you.

When the same simple sequence returns, the experience begins to feel known: warm water, soft sponge, your hands, First Touch on the skin.

That is the sensory thinking behind this ritual. We are not trying to add more stimulation. We are keeping the experience quiet enough for the things your baby is already learning to recognize to remain at the centre.

And because you are repeating the ritual too, it can become familiar for you as well. One small part of newborn care that does not need another decision.

The original First Touch concept was built around this exact simplicity: warm water, one soft cleansing texture, butter with no added fragrance and repeated touch.

Architecture of Grace™

This is where the Architecture of Grace™ begins.

Not with more things to do, but with a few things returning in the same familiar way. Warm water. Your hands. One soft texture. First Touch on the skin.

The structure stays simple so the relationship can stay at the centre. Repetition gives the ritual its shape. Your presence gives it meaning.

Give Her Something She’ll Use From the Very Beginning

First Touch is the kind of gift that becomes part of the first days at home.

You are giving her a simple way to care for her baby’s skin while she learns this new little body through touch. The butter melts on contact, the sponge keeps washing gentle, and everything stays free of added fragrance so her baby can keep finding comfort in the smell and warmth they already know best.

It is a small ritual, but it is all that is needed for the first weeks and it gives her something steady to reach for while she is still finding her footing as a mother.

Optional gift presentation and a handwritten note on a card can be added in your cart.

More About This Ritual

1 What is in this ritual?

First Touch Butter
A concentrated, water-free botanical butter inspired by the protective richness of vernix. Made for newborn skin, with no added fragrance, it melts on contact and leaves the skin soft, silky and protected without adding another scent to your baby’s new sensory world.

Konjac Sponge
One ingredient: konjac root. Once soaked in warm water, it becomes soft enough for gentle everyday cleansing without soap, detergent or added fragrance. It gives bath time one familiar texture while keeping the ritual simple.

2 Can I use First Touch on a premature baby (preemie)?

First Touch was formulated without essential oils or added fragrance and with a very purposefully simple, food-grade botanical formula. It is also EWG Verified. It is made for newborn skin, including premature babies (preemies).

3 Why does First Touch have no added fragrance?

Because your newborn already has important scents to learn.

Your skin, milk, clothing and the people who hold them are becoming familiar. First Touch does not add another fragrance on top of those cues.

The butter still gives you the tactile part of the ritual through its silky texture and slow touch, while allowing your baby’s early sensory world to stay simple.

4 Is the konjac sponge really cleansing enough without soap?

For the gentle everyday bathing this ritual is designed around, yes.

Once soaked, the konjac sponge becomes very soft and holds warm water as it moves across the skin. It helps lift the everyday residue that gathers on newborn skin without adding detergent, fragrance or another formula to the bath.

The intention is not to strip the skin until it feels "squeaky clean." It is to keep cleansing simple while your baby's skin is still new and developing.

5 Can I use First Touch on cradle cap?

Yes. Cradle cap usually appears in the early months, when your baby's care is best kept free of added fragrance, so First Touch is the natural choice.

Smooth a little into the scalp and leave it to soften the crusty layer. It then lifts away much more easily during the bath.

If the scalp looks red, sore or the patches spread, check with your pediatrician.

Continue the Care

First Touch gives you somewhere simple to begin.

But neither of you will stay exactly here. Your baby will become more alert, more mobile and more interested in the world. The kind of touch they welcome will change. Your body, your capacity and the shape of your days will change too.

The First Year of Motherhood™ continues the care as those changes arrive, with rituals and support that move with both of you rather than asking you to keep reaching for what belonged to an earlier season.
