For the Beginning of You Two

When a baby is born, a relationship begins before either person knows what it will become. At first there is so much learning: how to hold this small body, how to read the sounds, how to bathe, dress, feed and settle someone who has only just arrived. The mother is learning too, not only who her baby is, but who she is becoming in relation to them.

The Mother & Child was created to honour that beginning with care that belongs to both of them without pretending they need the same things at the same time. First Touch Baby Butter and a softened konjac sponge give the baby simple care from birth through warm water, gentle cleansing and vernix-inspired protection. Rejuvenating Serum and a collection of four botanical soaks belong to the mother, giving her different ways to receive warmth, scent, beauty and sensory care of her own. Later, when baby is old enough for the aromatic formulas, Butter in Pink and Butter in Blue can begin to enter their shared body-care rituals.

The gift is generous, but its meaning is not in the number of pieces. It is in the way the care unfolds across the beginning of their life together. Some of the care belongs to the baby from the beginning, some belongs entirely to her, and some is waiting for the time when their rituals can begin to overlap.

Inside the Ritual

First Touch Baby Butter + Konjac Sponge

FOR BABY FROM BIRTH

First Touch Baby Butter + Konjac Sponge

The newborn care begins simply. The softened konjac sponge gives the parent a gentle way to wash and learn the baby’s body without adding another cleanser or scent, while First Touch follows with the vernix-inspired protection newborn skin needs once it has moved into dry air. Together, they keep those earliest bathing and body-care experiences quiet, tactile and close.

Rejuvenating Serum + Botanical Soak Collection

FOR HER OWN CARE

Rejuvenating Serum + Botanical Soak Collection

Rejuvenating Serum and the four botanical soaks give the mother care that belongs to her, with different sensory experiences she can choose from depending on the day. Calendula + Chamomile brings warmth and traditional botanical care, Honeysuckle + Oat keeps the bath quieter and fragrance-free, Lavender Evening gives her a softer aromatic transition later in the day, and Rose Ritual Soak brings beauty and a fuller floral experience when she wants something more sensuous. Rejuvenating Serum adds another small ritual for her face, with silky botanical oils and its warm citrus, sandalwood and softly spiced aroma.

Butter in Pink + Butter in Blue

FOR THE CARE THEY CAN SHARE LATER

Butter in Pink + Butter in Blue

Once baby reaches the appropriate age for the aromatic formulas, Pink and Blue can begin to move into their shared body-care rituals. Pink brings warmth, softness and a gentle vanilla-citrus scent, while Blue offers a quieter sandalwood and sweet-orange experience for the days when less sensory input feels better. Both give the parent enough glide for slow touch, while allowing the care that began separately to become something familiar between them over time.

About this formula

How the Care Unfolds

The Mother & Child is not a ritual that asks every piece to be used at once. It was created to unfold with the relationship itself. In the beginning, the baby has simple care appropriate from birth while the mother has bathing and facial rituals that belong entirely to her. As the baby grows, Butter in Pink and Butter in Blue can gradually enter the care they share.
The sequence is therefore less about following one routine and more about knowing what belongs when.

Step 1

Keep some of the womb with you

Your baby has spent their whole life warm, surrounded by water, moving to the rhythm of your body and listening to you from underneath your heart. Now, earthside, those early baths feel familiar and comforting. Keep the water warm, support your baby well, and let them enjoy being in it. The soft konjac sponge is the only gentle cleanser the delicate newborn skin needs.

Now the next best thing to vernix and a moment to connect, speak gently, make eye contact and massage every little part of your little darling. The touch says, you are safe and loved. This is where you belong.

Step 2

Get to Know Your Little Person

These are the months when you begin to fall in love with every part of them. The folds behind the ears. The way the toes curl when you touch the feet. The funny noises in their sleep. The expression that comes just before hunger or tiredness.

Bathing and massage give you time to notice these beautiful details without rushing past them. You do not need to feel confident all at once. Confidence comes because you slow down and connect with your little person. It is a form of nourishment they crave.

Step 3

Choose What Feels Good to You

The early postpartum is a demanding time while you are still healing. Traditional care with botanical soaks, warmth and gentle massage has been how many cultures mothered the mother for millennia. And for a good reason.

Calendula + Chamomile may feel right when you want some soothing. Honeysuckle + Oat gives you a quieter bath. Lavender can belong to an evening when you want the day to soften around you. Rose is there when you want beauty, scent and something that feels distinctly yours.

Choose what you are drawn to and let the bath be a place where your body gets to receive for a while.

Step 4

Come Back to Your Own Skin

You spend so much time looking closely at your baby in these months. Let your own skin receive some of that attention too.

Gentle, warming vanilla bean pieces macerating in your serum lending it the comforting scent you will feel yourself crave at the end of the day.

Postpartum skin needs the extra little love after the hormonal drop you will experience. And your mind needs the peace of knowing that what you are putting on your skin is absolutely safe for your baby.

Take a moment for yourself at the end of the day and feel the soft texture of the velvet and satin pouch, feel the contrast of the smooth bottle and fell it's weight in your hand. A few drops on your palms and take a deep soothing breath, the gently press your palms into your skin and feel the serum sinking into your skin. This moment is yours alone. Enjoy it.

Step 5

Let the Care Become Something You Share

The scent between you matters. You baby is comforted by your scent, perhaps that is why nature makes us so smelly after giving birth.

Simple, rich and deeply nourishing skincare is the only thing between you.

This is the baby-love bubble at the heart of Mother & Child. You are both settling into a new life, getting to know each other more deeply, and finding little ways to make warmth, pleasure and closeness part of the care from the beginning.

The Feel of Life Together

In the beginning, mother and baby are learning each other through sensation long before either of them could put words to what is happening. The weight of a body being held, warm water, the movement of hands across skin, the scent of something used again and again. These small sensory experiences begin to gather around daily care.

The Mother & Child ritual leaves room for that familiarity to develop over time rather than asking everything to be shared at once. The baby begins with the quiet simplicity of water, the softened konjac sponge and First Touch. The mother has her own sensory world through warm botanical baths and Rejuvenating Serum, with scent and texture chosen for her pleasure rather than for the baby.

Later, Butter in Pink and Butter in Blue can become part of the care they share. The same hands that once moved carefully over a newborn body now know that body differently. The child knows the touch too, along with the scent, texture and rhythm that have become part of being cared for.

Over time, these ordinary sensations begin to carry the feeling of life together.

Architecture of Grace™

The Mother & Child is Architecture of Grace™ because it does not force mother and baby into one shared rhythm before they are ready for it.

At the beginning, the baby has simple care that suits newborn skin. The mother has care that belongs to her own body and senses. Later, from about 2 to 3 months, Pink and Blue can begin to enter the routines they share.

The structure holds space for both independence and closeness. Each person has what belongs to them, and over time some of that care begins to overlap naturally.

Grace here is not sameness. It is knowing when care should stay individual, and when it can become something they recognize together.

What You’re Honouring

You are not simply giving something for a new baby. You are honouring the beginning of a relationship that will keep changing for years.

There is care here for the small body that has just arrived, and care for the woman whose own body, attention and daily life have changed with that arrival. There are also pieces chosen for later, when some of the rituals that begin separately can start to become shared.

That is what makes The Mother & Child ceremonial rather than simply large. You are giving them care for the beginning while leaving room for the relationship to grow into its own rhythms over time.

A ceremonial gift for mother, baby and the rituals that will become theirs together.

Optional gift presentation and a handwritten note on a card can be added in your cart.

More About This Ritual

1 What’s in The Mother & Child Ritual?

For baby from birth: First Touch Baby Butter + Konjac Sponge
First Touch is a vernix-inspired botanical butter with no added fragrance, made for newborn skin. The konjac sponge becomes exceptionally soft in warm water and gives the parent a gentle way to bathe baby without adding another cleanser or scent.

For mother: Rejuvenating Serum + four botanical soaks
Rejuvenating Serum brings silky facial care and a warm citrus, sandalwood and softly spiced aroma. The soak collection includes Calendula + Chamomile, Honeysuckle + Oat, Lavender Evening and Rose Ritual Soak, giving her different bathing experiences to choose from depending on what she wants that day.

For later, together: Butter in Pink + Butter in Blue
From about 2 to 3 months, Pink and Blue can begin to enter their shared body-care rituals. Pink brings a softer vanilla-citrus experience, while Blue offers sandalwood and sweet orange with a quieter sensory feel.

2 Why are some of the products for later?

Because a newborn and a baby of 2 to 3 months do not need exactly the same care.

First Touch and the konjac sponge are there from birth. Pink and Blue contain aromatic ingredients, so they are included for the stage beginning at about 2 to 3 months, when those formulas can become part of the care mother and baby share.

That timing is part of the gift rather than a limitation. The Mother & Child was created to acknowledge that their relationship will keep changing, and the care can change with it.

3 Is this mainly a baby gift or a gift for the mother too?

It is deliberately for both.

The baby has care that belongs to the newborn stage. The mother has a serum and a full collection of botanical soaks that are hers to use according to what feels good to her. Later, Pink and Blue give them something they can begin to share.

The gift is meant to recognize the relationship without making the mother disappear inside it.

4 How is The Mother & Child different from The Welcome Home?

The Welcome Home is a simpler birth gift for the immediate arrival, with care chosen separately for mother and newborn.

The Mother & Child is more expansive and ceremonial. It includes care for baby from birth, a broader sensory collection for the mother, and products that are intentionally waiting for the stage when some of their rituals can begin to overlap.

Welcome Home says, “I thought of both of you when you arrived.” The Mother & Child marks the beginning of the relationship itself.

5 How is this different from The First Forty Days?

The First Forty Days is built around the specific needs of the early postpartum period and the first six weeks after birth.

The Mother & Child is not organized around recovery. Its centre is the relationship between mother and baby, with care for each of them now and pieces that can become shared later.

6 Do they need to use everything in a particular order?

No.

This is not one long routine. The pieces are meant to enter their lives at different times and in different ways. The baby’s care can begin immediately. The mother can choose among the soaks and use Rejuvenating Serum whenever it fits. Pink and Blue can join their shared care from about 2 to 3 months.

The gift gives them a thoughtful collection to grow into, not a sequence they have to complete.

As Their Life Together Takes Shape

The beginning changes quickly. The newborn who fits so completely into your arms begins to hold their head differently, notice more, reach more, and eventually take part in the rituals that once happened entirely around them. The mother changes alongside them, learning what care looks like in each new stage and what she still needs for herself as the months unfold.

The Mother & Child was created with that movement in mind. Some of its care belongs to the earliest days, while other pieces are waiting for the time when bathing, body care and familiar scents can become something they begin to share.

The First Year of Motherhood™ continues that same attention to timing, with care that changes as both mother and baby do. This gift marks the beginning of their life together, while The First Year stays close to the many forms that relationship will take.
